Rigoletto is an opera that was written by Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi. It premiered in 1851 and is based on a play by Victor Hugo. The opera tells the story of Rigoletto, a jester in the court of the Duke of Mantua. Rigoletto is known for his sharp wit and cynical nature, but he is also a deeply flawed character. One of the key themes of Rigoletto is the concept of the curse. Rigoletto is cursed by Monterone, a nobleman whose daughter has been seduced by the Duke.
It’s difficult to determine which outcome would be the best one because in both there will be people who suffer and die in painful ways in a loop that is cursed to happen forever unless it is stopped in which case the sacrifice becomes complete.
There is no way Sam could have done anything differently in this entirely pointless decision but the fact that he does it to keep his daughter existing puts a slightly more selfish spin on it knowing full well she is the one that causes all this mess in the first place. The time and space surrounding Hanuda is very unstable so it may result in irregularities such as the whole Bella/Amana, chicken/egg situation that seem to be unsolvable. It’s a very damned if you do damned if you don’t situation.
The use of time travel in gaming has always been interesting with the mechanics and situations surrounding it but when you add in characters personal motivations like this in which they can in some way manipulate it to their will makes it seem that much more dark and thrilling. Chapter Four of Siren Blood Curse sees the hellish destiny of Hanuda become clear, as dark secrets are laid bare and the savagery of the Shibito intensifies.
Rigoletto is cursed by Monterone, a nobleman whose daughter has been seduced by the Duke. Monterone curses Rigoletto, saying that he will have to suffer for his role in the Duke's evil deeds. This curse hangs over Rigoletto throughout the opera, and ultimately leads to his downfall.
